MISSION: Arlington-Belmont Crew is a club sport that is coach-led, parent-supported, and board-guided to promote an appreciation for the sport of crew and the teamwork of rowing. The program includes skill building, physical conditioning, and the introduction to competitive rowing.
Latest team news:
Parent volunteer requirement: Every family needs to supply one parent volunteer to do at least one official volunteer job per season, as well as contribute to regattas and fundraising efforts. Please read the volunteer page to learn more.
Scholarship policy: AB Crew's position is to make every effort to provide the opportunity to participate to all students who want to row with AB Crew. If a rower's family is in a position in which it cannot pay part or all of the season registration fees, the family or student should request consideration for a full or partial scholarship before the registration deadline. This request should be sent to Elissa Grad. If the student qualifies for a free or reduced lunch, please state that in your request. You will be contacted by a member of the AB Crew Board of Directors or the Registration Manager to obtain additional information if it is needed.
The AB Crew Board of Directors will consider all requests by taking into consideration both the funds available in the budget for scholarship requests and the financial situation of the family. Each request will be considered and decided on a case-by-case basis. All discussions and arrangements are confidential. Each season, a new request must be made even if to indicate that the family situation has not changed.
Announcement regarding team dinners: AB Crew families often host "team dinners" at their homes during the season. These dinners are social gatherings and a chance for rowers to get to know each other outside of practice and racing. Team dinners are not structured team events and coaches do not attend. Parents and families are responsible for monitoring their guests' behavior. Rowers are expected to follow MIAA rules.
COMMUNICATION: This web site is the primary means of communication among the team, coaches, parents, and board of directors. Please bookmark this in your "favorites" now and refer to it daily for the most up-to-date information we have available.
